Reclaimed Structures
Log Farm Building Inc. is able to locate existing nineteenth century (and older) homes, barns, out buildings, and warehouses, which we now offer to the public. These buildings can be restored to their former glory, suit all of your home or office needs and create a one of a kind space.
Old growth, reclaimed timbers are a superior building material to new timbers due to the dense heartwood formed from the slow growth of virgin forests. In old growth forests, strong competition for light caused trees to concentrate on upward growth rather then girth. The result was straighter grain and fewer knots as the tree increased in diameter.
Below are the buildings we have at the present time. Our inventory is always changing so check back to our web site every few months. When one of these buildings is purchased we carefully number, document and take many photos prior to dismantling. Our Designer will use this information when he's working with you on your floor plan. We only purchase superior structures which are structurally sound and pass all required building / engineering codes. Should a particular member within the frame need replacing, we find a suitable timber of similar dimension and colour.
